Science & Cocktails is excited to present an evening about the outer space and “The Exoplanet Revolution” highlighting the enormous progress in the search for other habitable planets, with Nobel Prize winner Didier Queloz, one of the very few people who made the first observation of an “exoplanet” – a planet similar to our very own planet Earth. All this after the music of Fastpoholmen.

How many Earth-like planets are out there? How many solar systems? How did planets form and why? Is our place in the Universe special? Can we find signatures of life in the cosmos? What are the challenges in the search for habitable planets?
The wealth and diversity of planetary systems that have now been detected modified our perspective on planet formation as a whole and more specifically our place in the Universe. It also presents an opportunity of historical perspectives and an irresistible call to look for signs of life on these new worlds as a way to explore our own origins.
Didier Queloz will introduce the audience to the challenges and recent progresses in this new field of research and will touch upon the emergence of a new paradigm for the origins of life on Earth.
Before the “The Exoplanet Revolution”, Fastpoholmen plays their very own genre, which is a nice mix of show, reggae, ska, afro, indie and electronic. It sounds crazy on paper, but everything makes sense when you hear the music.

Didier Queloz
Didier Queloz is the Jacksonian Professor of Natural Philosophy at the University of Cambridge, where he is also a fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, as well as a professor at the University of Geneva. Together with Michel Mayor in 1995, he discovered 51 Pegasi b, the first extrasolar planet orbiting a sun-like star, 51 Pegasi. For this discovery, he shared the 2019 Nobel Prize in Physics with James Peebles and Michel Mayor. He is designate director of the new Center for the Origin and Prevalence of Life at ETH Zurich.
Fastpoholmen
Fastpoholmen is a unique Scandinavian band led by composer and singer Adam Fastholm and his cousin Dawn Fastholm.
Øresund bastards, as they have also been called, have created their very own genre, which is a nice mix of show, reggae, ska, afro, indie and electronic. It sounds crazy on paper, but everything makes sense when you hear the music.
Fastpoholmen has existed as a band since 2010. They have released 4 studio albums and 2 EPs. Their most popular songs are Himlen (2010), Över (2013), Tilsammans é vi bra (2016), Dudu (2018) and Swing o Boogie Groove (2020)
The band’s Danish informality and Swedish melancholy give the music a very Nordic impression, but the combination of Adam’s unique coming together, the strong songs and the talented musicians create an original and international sound at the same time.
The edge of the stage is no barrier between the band and the audience when Fastpoholmen plays live. The band is extremely inclusive of their audience and the 8 musicians offer an explosion of different impressions and varying instrumentation, with the common thread that the music is always carried by beautiful “catchy” melodies and ‘hooklines’, where everything still sounds like Fastpoholmen.
There is nothing to compare Fastpoholmen with! They must be experienced, and you will never be disappointed.
DJ Universe
Based on hip hop, he has spent the last 30 years digging, understanding and mapping until hip hop’s sample material eventually came full circle and met that of the parents musical influences. DJ Universe has played with and warmed up for hip hop acts which i.a. Delinquent Habits, Murse, Stor and Mohammed and funk names such as Azymuth, Marcos Valle, XL Middleton and Walla P.
