Series T3 - Light & Darkness
The music in the T3 series reflects the many facets of human life – from the doubting and serious to the festive and colourful.
A whole 24 hours in the life of a human being, unfolded by 110 musicians. Two people who fall in love at first sight. And a prisoner who on his last night looks death in the eye – these are just some of the special moments you can experience in this series as the orchestra depicts some of the most powerful events in human life – including elements of humour, fast tempos and skewed rhythms.
This Thursday series also touches on a number of fascinating female destinies. From the Sonning Prizewinner Barbara Hannigan’s interpretations of Berg’s enigmatic Lulu and Gershwin’s cheerful Broadway heroine Molly to Lise Davidsen’s seductive Sieglinde – not to mention the temperamental Russian witches in Mussorgsky’s orchestral fantasia about a night on Bald Mountain.
